Abstract :

La mise en place de la Grande Muraille Verte a modifié depuis plus de dix ans le mode de vie des populations, notamment celui des adolescents qui ont désormais accès à d’autres modes d’existence, et à d’autre manière de penser le monde. Les transformations occasionnées par la circulation d’hommes, d’idées, de marchandises dans un cadre globalisé impactent la société peule du Ferlo, zone géographique au Sénégal en cours de désenclavement. Ce projet d’étude en anthologie bio-culturelle se propose d’interroger la prégnance des modèles et des normes (fonctionnelles, axiologiques, esthétiques) concernant le corps dans la société peule, sur les adolescents du Ferlo. Il s’agit de mieux comprendre dans quelle mesure ils sont les agents et/ou les acteurs des transitions diverses (nutritionnelles, épidémiologiques, démographiques et des modes de vie). La recherche socio-anthropologique concernant les adolescents en Afrique de l’Ouest et du Centre a mis en évidence les vulnérabilités multidimensionnelles, dont l’accès aux soins et les pratiques de santé sont l’un des enjeux majeurs. Au plan méthodologique, deux approches, qualitative et quantitative, complémentaires sont envisagées au cours de deux missions dans le Ferlo sénégalais en focalisant sur des adolescents des deux sexes âgés de 8 à 18 ans, volontaires et en bonne santé. Au-delà de cet aspect fondamental, ces travaux sont également sources de collaborations sur des problématiques relevant de l’anthropologie du vivant et de l’écologie de la santé, et fédérant différentes unités de recherche, en particulier l’UMR8045 BABEL de Paris et l’IRL3189 ESS de Dakar en lien avec l’OHMi Tessekere.

Translated abstract :

The implementation of the Great Green Wall has changed the way of life of the populations for more than ten years, particularly that of adolescents who now have access to other ways of life and other ways of thinking about the world. The transformations brought about by the circulation of people, ideas, and goods in a globalized framework have an impact on the Fulani society of the Ferlo, a geographical area in Senegal that is in the process of being opened up. This bio-cultural anthology project aims to examine the influence of models and norms (functional, axiological, aesthetic) concerning the body in Fulani society on the adolescents of the Ferlo. The aim is to better understand the extent to which they are the agents and/or actors of various transitions (nutritional, epidemiological, demographic and lifestyle). Socio-anthropological research on adolescents in West and Central Africa has highlighted multidimensional vulnerabilities, of which access to care and health practices are one of the major issues. From a methodological point of view, two complementary approaches, qualitative and quantitative, are envisaged during two missions in the Senegalese Ferlo region, focusing on adolescents of both sexes aged 8 to 18 years, who are volunteers and in good health. Beyond this fundamental aspect, this work is also a source of collaboration on issues related to the anthropology of life and health ecology, and federating different research units, in particular the UMR8045 BABEL in Paris and the IRL3189 ESS in Dakar in connection with the OHMi Tessekere
