Abstract :

Depuis la démilitarisation du Pays de Bitche, l’autonomisation du territoire renforce les démarches de reterritorialisation autour de nouveaux enjeux dont les acteurs locaux se sont saisis. Ceux-ci s’inscrivent dans les orientations nationales de transition écologiques en matière alimentaire et agricole. Ainsi dès 2017, le Parc Naturel régional des Vosges du Nord s’est saisi de la mise en œuvre d’un projet alimentaire territorial (PAT) avec un fort lien vers la préservation patrimoniale des pré-vergers, des paysages ouverts... Mis en œuvre à partir de 2021, le PAT s’appuie sur un ensemble de démarches déjà établies comme « de la friche à l’assiette : Viande de Highland des Vosges du Nord » ou le label « j’achète Bitcherland » porté par la Communauté de Communes. Les transitions à l'oeuvre au sein du territoire illustrent une transformation du système productif local et une démarche de consommation locale. Le système agraire, composé de petites exploitations polyvalentes, d’élevage herbager, de cultures fourragères et d’apiculture, interroge sur sa capacité à constituer un système économique alimentaire local (circuits courts, ateliers de transformation, tourisme culinaire). Ce projet, mené avec les élèves du lycée Teyssier de Bitche, vise à développer une culture alimentaire territoriale à travers d'une part, l’étude des filières agricoles locales, la cartographie des systèmes alimentaires (terroirs, productions, circuits courts, saisonnalités) et d'autre part à des sorties de terrain avec les lycéens sur des sites agricoles et piscicoles, ainsi que la production de supports pédagogiques et de sensibilisation à destination du grand public.

Since the demilitarization of the Pays de Bitche, the empowerment of the territory has reinforced reterritorialization efforts around new issues that local actors have taken up. These are in line with national ecological transition guidelines in the areas of food and agriculture. In 2017, the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park launched a territorial food project (PAT) with a strong focus on preserving the heritage of pre-orchards, open landscapes, and more. Implemented from 2021, the PAT is based on a set of initiatives already established, such as “From wasteland to plate: Highland meat from the Northern Vosges” and the “I buy Bitcherland” label promoted by local authorities. The transitions underway within the region illustrate a transformation of the local production system and a shift towards local consumption. The agricultural system, consisting of small mixed farms, grassland livestock farming, fodder crops, and beekeeping, raises questions about its capacity to form a local food economy (short supply chains, processing workshops, culinary tourism). This project, carried out with students from Teyssier High School in Bitche, aims to develop a local food culture through, on the one hand, studying local agricultural sectors and mapping food systems (terroirs, production, short supply chains, seasonality) and, on the other hand, field trips with high school students to agricultural and fish farming sites, as well as the production of educational and awareness-raising materials for the general public.
