Le projet AGORARISK propose une recherche-action destinée à favoriser le dialogue entre chercheurs, citoyens et agents de l’Etat autour des incertitudes et des risques environnementaux et sanitaires sur le Complexe Chimique d'Estarreja. Plus précisément, il vise à comprendre les conditions de possibilité de dialogue et de travail en commun entre mondes différents pour expérimenter et coproduire des outils susceptibles de réduire le clivage existant entre savoirs scientifiques et savoirs citoyens. La région d'Estarreja a fait l’objet de nombreuses études, mais des recherches récentes ont mis en évidence des lacunes importantes en matière de communication à propos des risques. Les situations de débat avec la population impliquant élus, scientifiques et agents de l’Etat sont rares. Les conséquences sont des tensions et une perte de confiance. Alors que côté scientifique, des données sont bien disponibles puisque plusieurs équipes nationales et internationales de chercheurs s’intéressent aux problèmes de contamination à Estarreja. Nous désirons œuvrer à faciliter le rapprochement des différents acteurs locaux qui vivent avec la pollution au quotidien en créant de façon expérimentale les conditions d’un dialogue sur les incertitudes et les risques de contamination. L’implication des populations est une dimension urgente dans ce contexte précis et ne peut exister qu’à travers de nouvelles formes d’organisation du débat adaptées au contexte sociohistorique. Notre projet propose une approche expérimentale participative de façon à encourager les chercheurs à travailler avec les acteurs locaux et à inciter les populations à découvrir le monde de la recherche sous un nouveau regard.

PhD in Sociology of Innovation (École Normale Supérieure des Mines de Paris) focused the socio-technical analysis of the largest dam in Portugal, the Alqueva dam (2006). She is an associate professor at ISEG/University of Lisbon and a member of CSG research centre. Her main research interest are in Technology and Society, including natural resources and public participation procedures, scientific controversies, scientific institutions and knowledge production. She currently holds the position of the director of studies of the PhD in Economic and Organizational Sociology; she also belongs to the board of the Master on Economics and Management of Science, Technology and Innovation at ISEG/University of Lisbon. Since 2018, she is a member of the Council of the University of Lisbon.
She has participated in several research projects as coordinator and researcher. Dr. Katrin Erdlenbruch est directrice de recherché en économie (DR2) à IRSTEA, UMR G-EAU, Montpellier, France. Ses travaux portent sur l’économie des ressources naturelles et l’étude des risques naturels et des risques de pollution. Elle a des compétences en modélisation dynamique et économie comportementale, notamment concernant l’analyse des comportements dans le long-terme et en incertitude. Elle travaille sur l’analyse de la vulnérabilité des ménages et l’étude des capacités adaptatives face à des risques. Elle combine des approches théoriques et empiriques, tels que la modélisation dynamique, la modélisation des choix, des enquêtes de ménage et des analyses statistiques et économétriques.

Researcher in hydrogeology at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, Lisbon, Portugal) since 2008, graduated in Geology from the University of Coimbra (UC, Coimbra, Portugal) in 1992, completed her MSc in Groundwater Hydrology at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC, Barcelona, Spain) in 1996 and her PhD in Geosciences (Hydrogeology) with a sandwich PhD project at the Hydrogeology Group of the British Geological Survey (BGS, Wallingford, UK) and the University of Aveiro (UA, Aveiro, Portugal) in 2002. She got her first research contract as Researcher (FCT Ciência 2008) at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, Lisbon, Portugal) in 2008 after two post-doc positions (2004-2007).
As a researcher she has been contributing to several EU (PALAEAUX, BASELINE, BRIDGE, UTPIA, SOIL TAKE CARE) and FCT (KARSTRISK, FREEZE, IMAGES, PIEZAGRO, ECOWET AND CRUDE) funded projects.
