Understanding how environmental perceptions and representations change is a necessary condition for studying man-milieus interactions. This change may influence for good or evil the governance of the geographical spaces, the management of natural resources, and the management of biodiversity and ecosystems. Studies have found that the manifestation of "environmentally sensitive" attitudes among young people had implications for their adult behavior. Other studies have shown that children are able to communicate about environmental issues and their capacity to identify environmental pressures through drawings. Considering children as social actors, a survey relative to the environment based on drawings and questionnaires was performed (2012) upon the children of the primary schools of the former coal mining area of Provence (17 towns, 27 schools). This proposal aims to support the scientific and public valorization of this study by :
- collecting additional data (for additional analyses and publications)
- supporting scientific publication (including figures, maps and illustrative drawings which requires financial participation)
- initiating a book written in a way that is accessible to a wide audience
- conceptualizing an exhibition for a broad audience (schools, events, …)

Pierre Batteau
Pierre BATTEAU is Professor Emeritus at Aix Marseille Graduate School of Management (IAE Aix). His main areas of expertise include modelisation (financial valuation), management, risk management, and economics. He is Deputy Director of ECCOREV federation CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) of 40 laboratories for developing interdisciplinary research on environmental risks. He co-supervises the thesis of Nathalie Boutin.

Jean-Claude RAYNAL est Coordinateur scientifique de l’OHM-BMP. IE1 CNRS ECCOREV (FR3098), Docteur en Géographie. Ses travaux en géographie et environnement portent sur les rapports sociaux et spatiaux autour des enjeux de la nature et la gestion concertée des ressources naturelles.

Doctorante à l’IMBE et au CERGAM, Nathalie BOUTIN a conduit l’étude sur les enfants dans le cadre de son Master en écologie, sous la direction de Sophie GACHET (IMBE). Ses travaux de these sont encadrés par Solange Hernandez (CERGAM) et co encadrés par Sophie Gachet (IMBE) et Pierre Batteau (CERGAM).
