Deborah Goffner is a CNRS research
director and an internationally renowned specialist in plant biology. She has been an independent research group leader since 2000. As group leader, she ensures scientific project coordination and leadership, supervises numerous Masters and PhD students, and is responsible for obtaining funding to support ongoing research. Since Jan 2012, she is leading a research group entitled "Environment, Plants and Societies" at the CNRS UMI ESS "Environment, Health, and Societies". She is geographically based at the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal and Stockholm University, Sweden (Stockholm Resilience Centre) where she is currently a visiting senior
